"There was Great Joy"

By:RDB

Acts 8:5-6, 8 “Philip went down to a city in Samaria and preached the Messiah to them. The crowds paid attention with one mind to what Philip said, as they heard and saw the signs he was performing. So there was great joy in that city.”

Can it be said that your life has brought great joy to others? I’m beginning to realize that the greatest sign that Christ is the Lord of your life is His joy fills your life and overflows into the lives of others. Look at Philip’s life, a whole city experienced great joy because of Him. Can that be said of you in your home, your job, and your church? Philip had brought joy to a whole city. What was Philip’s secret? He came preaching Christ to them. Philip brought the message of joy. God loves you and chose to die for you that your sins may be forgiven and that His life may abide in you forever. When we don’t talk about Jesus in our homes, in our jobs, and in our churches no wonder there is no joy. There is a second secret to joy. Philip’s actions proved that the message he shared was real. You may never have the opportunity to cast a demon out of someone, but when you talk about Jesus, you must take the opportunity to live like Jesus? Ask yourself, “Do my manners reflect my message?” If you will preach and practice Christ, those who are around you will say, “Great joy has come to us.” I encourage you to tell of the love of Christ and then show the love of Christ. Tell of the forgiveness of Christ and then show forgiveness. Tell of the mercy of Christ and then show mercy. Joy like a river will flow from your live into the lives of others when you preach and practice Christ
